The 8 inch concrete block is the heavier-duty walling unit for load-bearing external walls, boundary walls and multi-storey construction. Its extra width gives better stability, sound insulation and strength, and the cores accept concrete infill and vertical rebar for reinforced masonry.
Like the 6 inch block, it is machine-moulded to consistent 390 x 190 x 200mm dimensions for clean, level courses — about 10 blocks per square metre.
